Kids Love Mess

Have you guys ever noticed how much kids, LOVE to make a mess?! I also noticed that a lot of toys these days are to encourage kids in making a mess. For example art craft stuff, painting, drawing, puzzles, etc. Now the question is, why do they like 'mess' so much? Mess is like a magnet to kids. Ok, not most of the kids love a mess. But most of them do. Should we prevent of making toys for the kids that will just encourage them to make more mess? Or should we stop buying all those so called creativity toys? Any thoughts on how parents can let kids still enjoy themselves without making a huge mess, thus creating more work for the grownups?

well i always tell them to go outside on the back porch with stuff like the art set or color wonder if its warm out if not i make them a place in the kitchen. they know that if they make a mess THEY don't clean up it'll be along time before they see that again. every parents ways are different tho. you just have to set limits with things that make a mess and stick to it

I see my nieces at weekends sometimes. Everytime I came there, they always got excited knowing they could make a mess more than the usual. The mommy allowed them loosen up a bit whenever I was there. But as soon as the toys were all over the place and the mommy asked them to tidy up or else the toys're gone; they pulled their face and started to cry. lol Thanks for your response mbarryton.

Perhaps encouraging the children to tidy up after themselves? Might sound a bit implausible, but, if you start young enough, children can learn boundaries and rules, and the limits of their "power." Sadly, most if not all creative toys will involve mess of some kind, i.e. painting, drawing, crayons, jigsaws. But, f it keps children happy and occupied, is tidying up that great a hardship?

Couldn't agree more. The only problem is, when you have to do it all the time some times you get bored and get stressed out about it (tidying up all the children's mess). lol But the kids are adorable, despites their being a bit silly sometimes. Thanks for leaving your response here, wenkinnoc.

being organise is really not part of kids as i noticed from my niece and nephew, they twnd to mess up any little thing they lay they hands on,from toys tv set etc...this i think is as a result of their adventurous heart, wanting to know why thing s are the way they are

heckyeah kids love to make messes but when it comes to clean it up they always say they will but they don. mine say later mom or i will. but it rarely happens i end up just leaving it be especially when it comesto their bedrooms. i get yelled at if i touch ther stuff. cuz then they say i dont know where things are when you put them away. i just tell them well if you'd do it then i wouldnt have too.
