Almost every bad Pinoy trait has been mentioned and I agree with all of them. It's good that Filipinos are aware of these negative characteristics. It's the first step to addressing and changing them. Let me just add another annoying Pinoy trait: idolatry. We idolize any one! Any one who's mestiza, tall, rich, cute, from a famous clan, etc. Proof is the phenomenon that is StarStruck and Pinoy Big Brother, etc. We put unknown people on a pedestal and hail them almighty. It's frustrating because it shows how stereotypical we are and how we value outer appearances so much. Talent is not so much an issue. It's very disappointing :(

I think the worst attitude of Filipinos is 'too much exagerration or giving too much positive impression on our culture, on our country's feature and OVER ACTING celebration if our fellowmen got triumphant on his or her field where we always forgot all the negative things about us that is much important to have a solution rather that focussing on temporary hapiness.

I think the worst trait filipinos have is crab mentality. Even before, filipinos tend to pull down another person specially those who worked hard and became successful.I dont know why some filipinos are like this, they may be jealous about the other person but can they be happy for them as well rather than pulling them down. According to my relatives abroad, this is really evident to those living there. Why just cant we help each other to become successful. in this way no relationships are broken and everyone can live peacefully and as well happy.

I think it would be the Feast of the Black Nazarene. It's not about the religious feast per se. But what really happens to a few people in the feast particularly those who get injured or even die because of the stampedes or hit-and-run robberies. The worst trait? Being mediocre...

it's pagan tradition...this was the tradition left by spaniards, and believe to be having miracles..what a crap right??a wooden statue can do miracles??it doesn't make any sense at all..even the devil could do that...this tradition sucks..that's why filipinos were enslave and put in captivity for 300 years..

I can't think of a worst tradition of Filipinos. But, what I hate is how Filipinos seem to worship foreigners.. lolz.. hate to say this but, I just notice that when I go to some restaurants or pass by the streets with my blonde boss, they tend to give us special treatments and all, 'ya know what I mean.. Worst is, I was talking to a sales lady in tagalog to describe what my boss likes to buy, then the saleslady suddenly whispered to my ears how lucky I am to have a foreigner husband!!! Duh!! with a belly like his and a stinky breath?!! I told them that he was just my boss, but i was shocked to what she tells me, she said, "seduce him as much as you can, it's your opportunity to be rich!". I feel like I wanted to yell at the girl then. By that day on, I told myself, not to go out with my boss again! I don't wanna get humiliated again. :(

there's no sense of nationalism at all among filipino...you know that's very obvious, because filipino race has no ethnic origin..we're just assimilation of different races that's why most of us have different traits..

For me the worst trait is being "chismosos." Cause I think a lot of time is really wasted by Filipinos minding others business. If only they used this time to be productive and not just to gossip over someone their lives would be somewhat better. More so, this makes a lot of trouble within a community. A lot of talks, rumors, and gossips would break trust and good relationships among neighbors and friends. Some other time is lost for settling the disputes that arise from gossips. So you see gossiping around causes a lot of trouble and a lot of time, money, and effort are wasted. If only we could focus more on our work, our country would be more progressive. So please stop minding other's business.

I love the festivities but hate all the expenses that the poor people will spend just to get through some traditions.

they are afraid of what might people think of them, because filipinos are sometimes arogant, they spend money to the things that they can't really afford..

Our being "stupid" and riding with the flow all the time. Most of the time, we let others think for us instead of deciding for ourselves. We ALWAYS listen to other people's words; family, friends, neighbors, teachers, media, etc. This happens specially in decision-making situations like voting. That's why our government is full of junk and stinking politicians! :(

the only thing we can do about it is to wipe out all the politicians...or have a civil war perhaps to clean up all the mess in the government...

I think it's always EXPECTING some sort of gift... Examples: - BALATO - well, it's good if it was something given by the winner, but sometimes people expect the balato. Look at the lines formed outside Manny Pacquiao's house - PASALUBONG - when you go away, you HAVE to bring everybody a gift, OR ELSE somebody will get mad - GIFTS TO INAANAKS ON CHRISTMAS - actually a good thing. But sometimes it's the parents who ask for it (make singil). Embarassing!

traditional politics and trapos (traditional politicians) the worst and most dirtiest tradional game we acquired from the americans. Who can change this system? what happened to our idealistic youths who are supposed to be the hope of the fatherland?

this traditions were rooted back way in the 1900's..we can't do anything about this...it is deeply rooted in our system

I really think that the worst trait that we have is thinking negatively or belittling/putting down ourselves. We always think that the other races are better than us, and we are ashamed to be Filipinos. We should be proud of who we are in order to move forward, I think.

#1 on my list is the crab mentality! #2 being too negative (also tied to #1) #3 too gossipy! (chismis!) #4 we complain a lot and it's utterly annoying! :P okay.. so where do i start... i just hate it when filipinos complain too much about how their income is never enough.. they're having a hard time paying their bills.. and yet they don't do anything to increase their income! they stay in the same positions.. although they're smart enough to apply for higher ones... they always say 'ayaw ko maging manager kasi madaming problema.. dagdag responsibilidad.." hmmm... is there a higher paying job that gives you less responsibilities? about being too negative... when they come across some filipinos who are assertive and smart and have big dreams like setting up their own businesses or moving up the corporate ladder, they always shoot it down... like "naku mahirap yan hija.. madaming problema dyan... " i mean why can't they be supportive? (tied to crab mentality...) chismis... need i say more? :) i think we're all guilty of this but it's really a bad trait.. what i notice usually is we just love to talk about other people.. we go to lunch.. then talk about other people.. and it's usually the negative things about other people... it's sad...

Our lack of decency and honor that results in serious and extreme corruption. It branches to a lot of other bad traits like "kumpare" method, and "pakikisama" mentality, and "utang na loob" way of thinking.

The worst Filipino tradition I know is the so-called Crab Mentality Syndrome. Filipinos tend to grow jealous of people who skips ahead of them. To the point that they do things to pull that person down, thus the 'crab'. This has been around and there is no isgn of dying down. Sad.

I would add our being extravagant in celebrating fiestas and things like that...some if not all would go into debt or sell valuable things to make good impression to the visitors.

One trait of pinoys that confuse me are the "pamahiin." Perhaps there's no harm in believing especially if there is a scientific explanation to back it up, but it ticks me off when i come across people who tremendously clings on this and let this beliefs govern their way of life. Its the computer age already!

i guess our "Filipino Time"... all events from school, social events, etc starts late. its funny when people set their clock/watch advanced about 15-30 minutes but when they look at it they will say, "advance naman to ng 20 minutes e..."
