I'm 47 and believe strongly that complete immortality is about 40 to 50 years away. I take multivitamin, CLA and just ordered my first batch resveritrol the other day. I know these things alone probably will not extend my lifespan beyond 30% but with advances in the understanding of the aging process, immune system and diseases progressing ever faster, I hope that will be enough of an extension to help me live until they've conquered aging completely. There are more scientists alive to today than in all prior generations of the human race put together. If this sounds like scifi or fantasy to you I suggest you read "The Singularity is Near" by Ray Kurzweil and see if it does not change your mind.

Some people don't like the idea of immortality and aren't interested in living forever. Myself I find that immortality would be the most well best thing there could be. Peoples definitions of immortality differ to. I'm thinking no suffering ever, no boredom, freedom to travel anywhere in the universe. Life extension is something that I would be happy with but immortality rules. Imagine living for say 200 years. The knowledge that you would have gained over such a time. I guess i'm thinking life extension first closely followed by immortality is how things will work. Life extension technology should be easily achievable in the next 30 years. What would your definition of immortality be exactly?
