Do you think that a person should not marry someone of a different religion? I am asking this becasue I really want to know. Would it cause conflict between the two families?

I don't think so.Love is blind so should stand for your love and not to abandon your love for religion sake.My situation is same too like what you're discussing here, but my family never caused any conflict. My parents told me that they are not gona be with me until the end of my days.So it's wise for me to live with my choice of man who i love a lot.

Thank you ,I think you are right. I am in a realtionship now where my parents dont mind but his parents do. I was never really raised in a type of religion and I have been thinking of converting but I need to be sure thatit is what I want to do but sometimes it feel like so much pressure on my shoulders when it comes down to this!!

I think it causes conflict between two families if they behave like some unmatured grownups but if you love someone you cannot help it because sometimes inter caste mariage is very sucessful.

As long as the couple decides to meld the two religions into the relationship, the family should not really have much imput since it is adults deciding to start a new family! Now family relations being what they are I would hope that they could be adults too and learn to agree to disagree when necessary for the happiness of their married children. Conflict can be managed when everyone acts like adults.
