We are doing hard work for friends who do not seem to "get it". We have received no money and it was never intended to be done for nothing. We do not want to give them up as friends, but are they really friends to let this continue

I found two scriptures that may help you: Luke 6:35 But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.
and Timothy 3:2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy. It's hard and its frustrating but we are called to serve without wanting anything in return. Our reward is not on this earth but in Heaven. Remember Jesus said what you have done to the least of men you have done also to me. Treat them as if they were angels that you would serve. I am not saying this will be easy. I will hold you up in prayer. You will be the light of the Lord to them. Feel free to vent here anytime you need to!
