My youngest cat has one toy she really likes. It is a velcro tie from my computer. She carries this thing around and bats it all over. Recently we have started playing fetch with it. She actually jumps in the air and tries to catch it then she brings it back to me do to again. We keep this up until one or the other of us gets tired. Does your cat do any tricks.

My girlfriends cat Pebbles fetches. She has since she was a kitten. She will bring you one of her fuzzy balls to throw. I't so cute to watch. Poor Pebbles had to be put to sleep 3 weeks ago due to cancer. There was no way to help her and the vet said she was suffering. She had stomach cancer and could no longer eat or drink. She was 10 years old.

I am sorry to hear that. I know they are like children, and it is amazing how much you can care for them.

My cat loves playing fetch! Mostly rolled up tin foil balls. I throw it, he runs, bats it around then bats it back to me. If I can't reach it, I tell him, bring it here I can't reach and he bats it again. Nobody beleived it until I showed them. It is hilarious to watch! If I ignore his advances to play, he will keep batting it to me until I reach down and throw it. I can't get my dogs to fetch but the cat has it down pat!

Patches even brings it to bed with us at night. I cannot tell you how many times I have woke up in the morning and was sleeping on it for something.

I had a cat named patches in college... 'bout 12 different meows... I lived off campus in a house during college at A&M, Patches was a cross between Persian & Calico, Mostly White, Brown & Black tail, one ear black, one ear brown... During the winter months, my roommate & I would make a fire, needed kindling... Upon hearing the sound of newspaper scrunching she would run & sit in the middle of the living room... My roommate would throw me a newspaper ball & she would try to bat it down in the air...She was good 2! 'bout 60-75%... Play hockey 4 a miunte, get bored & return 2 the middle of the living room... Good 30 minutes of fun...she was fast & she could jump 4'-5' in the air... AC

I have three cats and only one fetches. She is really good like yours. The other two just look at her. I was thinking about signing her up with one the baseball teams.

No a bad idea. We could have the best catching team in the league.

I had a cat who would fetch as well. It all started when I crumpled up a piece of paper and she seemed thrilled by the noise so I threw it at her! Then, 'a dog was born'. She loved playing fetch! Then I'd forget and be working on something and crumple up a paper and she would come running out of no where thinking it was a call to come and play!

Didn't teach her. I threw the toy a few times to get it off my bed and she would go and get it and bring it back to me.

My cats play like that but not fetch. My daughter has three cats and she says they play fetch. They are a weird bunch her cats. They are all black and all boys. So when you go over there they talk to you and play. They are so cute.

hi there my little danish also have a toy that he always paly with.he's totally smart when sometimes we plan to trick him about his bunny. sometimes we hide it at the rack. he will stare all over the places just to find it.lol. and usually he succeed to find it. he has lots of tricks. one of it is when we have our meals or dinner he wants to be with us. actually in the same time he will have his meal or dinner but still, he runs to us and wish to betogather. do you know why?? the reason is he always in curious that we are having a better and tastier food than him although the truth is we have the same foods.lol. if i want to eat some sweet breads i have to open the wrapper quietly and chew it in silent.if he does hear the wrapper sound he will run to me and ask the bread that simply in my mouth.lol. it's not only to bread but it hapens for potato chips.when i give him the potato chips he won't eat it but he keeps urging to take the chips that simply in my mouth so by hook or by crook i have to chew them and give it to him. he's totally naughty but yet he's too sweet.

my cat doesn't fetch stuff, rather she takes stuff. She jumps up on my husband's shoulder rather like a parrot and then she swipes down at his plate for some food, a bit like a heron. She also sits on his shoulder while he watches tv, reads the paper and walks around.

Hi there...both of my cats have learned the following trained behaviours using both verbal and visual cues: - sit - sit up - lay down - roll over - fetch - twirl - freeze position - wave - high-five - give nose and licky kisses - sit up and raise a paw to ask a question - jump through hoops - jump over hurdles - pat the human on the head to tell you "good person" - take apart 3-D layered puzzle - balance on a basketball and walk slowly forward - jump onto shoulder from the floor - toilet trained and flush - walk on leash - agility training (like dog agility) -...a bunch more than I cannot remember However, my cats do have an advantage since'm an animal trainer to exotic cats. Most people are unaware how much cats can learn which is just about anything if you understand the species and the techniques to train them effectively which doesn't involve any coersion.

My mother has a cat named Chloe that fetches yarn and little fuzzy balls and it's just the cutest thing! Whenever she wants to play she'll come walking up to you with a fuzzy ball in her mouth and drop it at your feet. My cat Raven had to spend a couple of months there while I was in the process of moving and my mother had him playing fetch in no time! I'm still not sure how she got him to do it but it's one of his favorite things to do now. Who needs a dog when you have a fetching cat! :)

Your picture looks like two of my cats :) I had to double check. We have had cats do that. We've also had our share of klepto kitties. Ones who like to steal things including dollar bills. They will carry them off and if you don't catch them doing it you might not ever find the things again.

My cats play fetch too. My oldest cat started it, and taught the other two how to fetch. It was really funny when she fetched because we'd never seen a cat do that. Each of my cats has a favorite toy they like to fetch with.

I have one cat, Tinker, that does this. She only does this with waded up pieces of paper though. She puts our dogs to shame! She started this when she was just two or three months old.
