Why is it bad for professors to fall inlove with one of his students?

Most schools consider this as a major offense and sometimes lead to termination. Why is that?

i guess the reason for it is that it would greatly affect the environment not only to the professor and the student involved. if they would allow this kind of relationship, there maybe an undesirable consequences that all of them will face.

yup its very true.. even in my institution probably for the reason that you and your students are in the same roof,, maybe jealousy,, altrations and favoritsms might occur or worst,,avoidance with each other... of course im gulity nyehehehe!
