People Watching

When I was in college, my boyfriend and I would sit on one of the benches that lined the side of the building and just watch our fellow students pass by. We'd point out interesting things to each other, like how this girl's arm is so casually draped over this guy's shoulder, not knowing that the guy is uncomfortable with their positions. She doesn't know it but we do, because we see the expression on the guy's face. Sometimes we'd watch a couple fight, and we'd dub their exchange with the silliest things. It was then that I realized that I love to watch people do regular things, and notice the particular way in which they do it. I've added this interest to my lot because I look forward to interacting with people who have this particular interest as well. I'd love to know what you think--about the act itself, and what you think about--when people watching.

I enjoy people watching!!! I definately enjoy making up conversations while watching people when I cannot hear them. No one else I know likes to do this. Unfortunately it is kind of boring to pretend to be both people. And a little confusing at times. I also like to watch how people interact with each other using body language...there is so much to learn about them! I can't give any specifics right now...my mind is drawing a blank but I know what you mean about it being something you like! It's almost like reading a book or watching a movie, which are my favorite things to do! You get to see the point of view of all of the "characters".

EXACTLY! it's a great pastime, isn't it? and it's amazing how sometimes you find that you have a connection with someone because if you're people watching together and you see something funny, all you have to do is make one eye contact with that person you're watching with, and you burst into laughter! i have that with my sister, and it happens a lot!
