Do you have a difficult time getting your children to have family pictures taken

I was wondering if any of you that have children, nephews or nieces, had trouble getting them to have their family photo taken. Did your kids refuse to have their pictures taken or get dressed for picture taking? Would they do whatever they could to avoid having their pictures taken? If you were able to get them to have their picture taken, what did you do to get them to behave for their pictures?

I think that it just depends on who the child. Little children normally don't understand, and they really don't care. Other older children either are scared of the camera or are a camera hog. And, sometimes as a teen, they do not want their picture taken AT ALL! But, I have a very expressive family, that loves to have their picture taken and getting ready for the picture. Getting everyone to be quiet and listen is another story! :D

My nephew was the one who was the most difficult to have his picture taken and he is. My niece had some trouble but eventually cooperated. The adults were easy when it came to having pictures taken. :-)

My eldest son is like that...not wanting his picture taken. He used to be fine with it...but when puberty kicked it, it was as if the camera was his enemy! Now, when we have a family picture taken, he looks as if he wants to kill someone! It gets very scarey sometimes!

click to enlarge - my family haveing fun after the real picture was taken
I do a lot of photography. So my kids are very used to having their pictures taken. LOL So getting them to get dressed is not hard. Getting all seven kids positioned correctly is tough. But when they know that we have gotten just the right picture. They look forward to the last two pictures where they can make faces and funny expressions.:) This gets them to pay attention and cooperate more when it is the serious photo. Then they get to hear me say, "OK! Do what you want not...ready?"They love it!

That is nice that your kids did not mind having their pictures taken as my nephew and niece were difficult to keep still or focused on having their picture taken. My nephew was really bad about it as he would not dress up or stand in the room for the pictures. My niece is still very young and did not realize what was going on. Everytime they were ready to take the picture she would walk away. LOL She would also create her own little setting and then walk away when they were taking pictures. LOL

I love that! You get the serious "real" picture taken and then let all of it out for the GRAND finally. WOW! I love that picture and all of the expressions. I am sure they ALL love it!! Cheese :D Ok do what you want :P LOL

If they don't want too, it is very difficult. I did candid camera pictures if they would not cooperate. And, they are fun to look at, the expressions when they are not looking, and you get that picture.

Me,my mom,my son, and my two grandson's - A four generation picture at Christmas of me, my mom, my son and my two grandsons
When my son was young, he loved to have his picture taken for whatever reason. My grandson is also the same way. My problem now is with the adults, myself included. None of us want our picture taken. I had always wanted a four generation picture taken but nobody wanted to do it. But this past Christmas, my boyfriend got sneaky and got a picture for me. Its not professionaly done but it will still be treasured.

We just had family pictures taken yesterday as part as my mom's birthday gift and my nephew kept refusing and crying not to have his picture taken and refused to dress up nicely. It must have taken at least a half hour before we had one picture taken. I hope that your children cooperate for you. :-)

My 2 year old daughter really loves picture taking. If she realized that we will going to have picture taking, she will smiled or posed immediately. She also love to get dressed not only when we're going to have picture taking but also if we're going to have fmaily affairs.

That is so nice to hear that your daughter loves having her picture taken. Your daughter sounds very well behaved. My nephew was not thrilled at all about picture taking and my niece was not too excited either.

We are not that far yet with our daughter, she is 7 months now. So, I really do not have an experience with that just yet. So far, she just loves to take pictures and smile when we take them. We'll see what happens when she gets older.
