My husband and I typically don't celebrate Valentine's Day because we both believe that you shouldn't treat someone special just because of a holiday. So this year, I figured it would be the same. I was wrong and the gift he wants to get me $180. Now, $180 isn't going to break us, but I can think of other things I would like to do with that cash. I think $180 is a bit much. The holiday is so close to Christmas, we still have Christmas and Wedding present we haven't even touched yet. Oh, he has already said that even if I don't want to celebrate the holiday, I am still going to get the gift and unless I can prove we aren't going to eat, he is getting it for me. LOL Do you think this is too much to spend on Valentine's day?

In my oopinion, as long as you guys take that moment to spend time together and take a moment to spend special time, then make sure that you put all things aside. I think that is why there is a special day set aside, it is for all of us that are caught up into things, for us to stop and take a moment to recognize the person we love.

Ha ha, if he wants to spend $180 on you, then just say OK! :-D But I agree with you, hubby and I will probably only exchange cards or something. WE don't really celebrate it because we think it is too commercialized and we have other bills to pay.
