Well practice as much as you can. I practice my guitar for about 2hours a day when i dont have much time but when i have time i can play it for 4-5 hours. its relaxing and i really enjoy it.

It's not too much about the time invested, it's the planning of your practice time what can make you progress faster. Depending on what you're practicing, it's a good idea to organize your study materials in order to cover many different learning techniques. For example, you could prctice sight reading on monday, paradiddles on tuesday, 4-way coordination on wednesday and so on. Also, you could practice different exercises for small amounts of time every day. Remember that no matter what you practice, the idea is to apply your drumming knowledge in a musical context that makes sense.

I play at least an hour a day. Practicing daily is good so that your body will get used to it. The other guy is right. If you practice you should have a goal in mind. Like 'by the end of this practice i can play this beat at this bpm' or 'by the end of this i could play this roll'... etc etc...

My friend plays drums and he has gotten really good only practicing 75 minutes a day. He's played for 8 years though.
