Its about 40 degrees celcius here in Australia now. Does anyone have any good tips on how to cope with the heat. What are you guys do when it´s very hot?

I live in the southern part of the US, it does get hot here but not that hot usually. I worked outdoors for years in the heat and here are the things we did to stay cool. Stay hydrated, drink water, gatorade or anything with frutose in it. Keep a damp towel around your neck it will catch the sweat and will feel cool after awhile, you can also put this on your head if you are in direct sunlight for any length of time. Do not go from air conditioning to the outdoors too often, do one or the other so your body thermostat can regulate. Eat salt!

I have heard that a cabbage leaf on your head and on your neck will help you stay cool I heard that Babe Ruth did this. Never tried it though, We use fans and a small air conditioner to keep our place cool. But right now it is to cold out for tht it is 15 degrees out right now and we are going to be having -10 degrees tonight. wearing bigger airy clothing might help keep you cooler for air to be able to circulate around your body. And dampen something down maybe to keep you cool I do that in the summer when I am walking. Well hope you get lot of ideas from everyone and that something works for you.

104F right? not to shabby! lol our summer average is about 108F i believe. most of us worship the air conditioner or swamp coolers. if you have to be outside try tying a wet bandana on your head under your hat. and a wet one around your neck helps too.

When its very hot here we go pile up in a creek somewheres. We ride in the mountains too. Its always cooler in the mountains. Try to drink plenty of water, it helps and dress light. Back in the olden days they would always wear a long sleeved shirt in the hot weather. I have no idea why either they were protecting themselves from the sun or it kept them cooler. I have never tried but maybe you could to just test this out and see what happens.
