Are teenagers generally concerned about political issues in their country?

I'am recently doing a project on political issues and I'am just wondering that do teenagers follow up with the political issues happening in their own local country. I feel that most of them couldn't care less as I personally have not much interest over that. and Parents, does your child keep track with political issues around them and why?

With the kind of entertainment freely aailable to teenagers,I do not think they read newspaper, watch news channels and hence their interest in politics is not significant. Only those youth who are involved in political party work (volunteers) will be showing greater interest, because their are paid. Even in India, the educated class have no interest or time for politics. It is unemployed youth who are keen on supporting some party or the other and get involved in dirty politics not the politics of ethics oriented.
