Are you afraid of getting old?

The older I get, the Wiser I feel. Hence I whole heartedly accept to experience this natural phenomenon.

this is one of my fears. not that i have anything against the elderly, my sister works in a nursing home and the stuff that she has to do for them because they are too weak or helpless, it breaks my heart and there are so many medical probelms that the eldery have and i would hate for someone to have to do things likt that for me. like if i cant wipe my own butt whats the point? ya know?

I am not sure if afraid is the right word to be used, but I do feel intimidated with my age. It's inevitable! We can't do anything to stop aging. I only fear that I won't get married. Till now I haven't found my soul mate, and I am not getting any younger! It freaks me out to think that I'll be alone all my life...

it doesen't hurt abit,i will be 62 feb. 4th and my wife will be 70 in july and it has never bothered us .we are still active , we are both retired and we have all the time we want to dowhatever we want

yes, i'm afraid of not being able to do things i want. i'm alone in life now i have no family. i'm afraid that when the time comes i will be alone without anyone to ask for help nor anyone to be with. i'd rather die early than to grow old =(

Gerontophobia--fear of getting old. I am also afraid of it. I'm afraid that when I get old I would be forsaken by my family. Like you I'm not quite prepared for this fact of life. But what can I do? I must face and accept it with all courage. My life is in God's hand. He has never forsaken me and I know He won't forsake me when I get old.

Me too because when you get old you cant do things which you are doin before.

It didn't use to bother me until I turned 40.. Now it seems like every day there is something to remind me that I am getting older.

Hmmmm.. yeah sometimes I think I am afraid of getting older. Thinking life is too short and I did not yet enjoy the whole of it. Like for instance achieving your dreams.

I am afraid sometimes of getting older. I hate to think it. But it's a reality and I am going there sooner. So the best way to be happy when I get old is to enjoy my life now and make the most of it. Lastly, I should be rich so I won't beg when I am too old to work.

it ain't so bad although all my Dreams are the "Me" of High School Days. ...Just keep yourself Fit, and Realize, We will all look a bit different as we age, but WE are the same Person, only wiser.

i m not afraid of getting old. i know one day we all have to grow old so there is no point in gettig afraid for that. if u think that by fear of getting old u will not grow old then it is not fair. in fact everyone should be prepared for it just as we enjoyed our childhood and young age. have a nice day on mylot.

It is not so much aging that I fear, it is more the life of independence that I may lose. If I can remain healthy and be financially independent, growing old is not a problem.
