Have you ever seen this type of art work or have you ever made it before? I made this picture for our church choir director several years ago. I had recently went to the Clevelnad Museum of Art and saw a writer's portrait done in his own words and thought I would give it a try. The drawing I used to make this was the front cover of a piece of choir sheet music we had sung and then I used the titles of songs we had sung in choir over the years to fill in the drawing.

It's something! I myself is incapable to make such drawing! I've seen ones that are similar to your work, but usually the wordings only cover some part of them unlike yours where the wordings make for whole drawing. How about make another one and share it with us in your picture section?

OK, I'll be coming back from time to time then =). You're such an artist. I hope I have the sense of art and creativity like yours. My Sunday School children would certainly benefit a lot from that!

I might be able to help with that. I have taught sunday school and directed vacation bible school for well over 10 years. And as you can imagine crafts was an area that I loved doing. Let me look up some of my crafts that I did with them. Also I'll send you a friend invite. You can then let me know of any theme in particular that you are interested in in having a craft for.

It is a really interesting form of art to do. The preperation isn't hard but finding the right length of wording to use is the key. i also do caligraphy and use my calligraphy pens to do the writing.

I have seen very little pertaining to art of this type. I think it is a lovely way to express yourself.

Cool. I laid a white piece of paper over the line drawing and just traced the outline, then I laid another white piece of paper over that one and used it to write in the words. After that was done I then copied it on a copier/scanner onto the background paper of my choice. I framed the one I gave to the chior director.

Its fun to search for just the right line drawing. You can use almost any type of written word in it. Scripture, poetry, words to your favorite songs whatever. And People just love to look at it and try to read it.

No, haven't seen that before. Writers, pictured in their own words... some sort of justice, there. "A picture is a thousand words"? In my case a paragraph would do, in Celtic script. I call it a face, but I'm sure it's just there to keep the dust out.

That is the exact thought I had. I almost named this discussion A picture is a thousand words. Now how funny is that. I'm sure your portrait would require more then a paragraph. Hmmm maybe two.

OH MY! That is really neat. My wheels are spinning as to ideas to be done with this form of art. What a unique gift that makes! I'm sure your choir director was thrilled. This is a great idea for that person who means so much to you and yet you don't feel that just 'any ole gift' will work! Thanks for another great idea! I know what I may do for xmas!

I saw something on this line on tv the other day. A man was doing it. It looked really awesome! He even got color in his. I wish I could do this. I can't see yours too good. It's really small. Maybe you could enlarge it. Thanks for sharing.
