Has anyone ever thought about getting a start on owning their own home by living full time in an RV? Maybe start with a smaller one depending upon what you could afford and save up for larger ones until you had enough equity to buy a small house and lot?

No, I have never lived in one, nor do I think I could. I live in a 2 bedroom apratment right now, and although we have plenty of room, I cannot imagine losing the space and storage that we have. (I have 2 kids.) I live in California, and it is so expensive here to buy anything! I have written off the idea to ever own anything in this state, and I really don't care. California is nothing but made up of greedy, money hungry people who want nothing more than be filthy stinking rich-and are not kind and neighborly at all. I will be glad when my time comes to get the hell out of here.

Its called being a "full timer"! Home on wheels is better than a shelter, but once you take the step, you are HOMELESS! Think about it before you do it, especially with a family! There's advantages and disadvantages! You must have a legal place to park! And gas is expensive! Also, RV parks, at least in California, require that in order to accept your RV it must be less than 10 years old. So you must find an RV that is 1997 or newer. I have lots of experience being a full timer. Message me in private, I'll explain.
