I was recently involved in an accident. It was deturmened to be my fault. I was turning left from a main hwy into a side road.the road ahead looked to be clear(it was dark with light traffic). i proceeded across and a vehicale came from nowhere and we hit. Now , i know in most cases this is cut and dry. I should be guilty of not giving right of way to on coming traffic. But,in my mind, it's not. My wife was my passenger, and, she too never saw the other vehicle. We belive that the other driver was not driving with headlights. But have no proof.
What we do have proof of is this. the on scene officer took down the information of the other vehicle as a ford truck. The vin# he got from the inssurance. The plate # he took from the vehicle. The vin# is for a 94 ford escort. On the police report it has us hitting a mazda truck. We rember it being a ford explorer. The mistery here is the plate the officer wrote down on the FR10 does not match the one in the police report. The details or many. So I wil cut it short.
It sums up that we have two differant vin#'s and two differant plate #'s. The first of the set(vin/plate)came from the inssurance card and the vehicle. The 2nd. set came from the police report. The vin# of the firstset is from a ford escort. The plate we do not know what vehicle it comes from. The 2nd. set is a match for a mazda.
My main concern is whether or not this is a scam the other party is invalved in. what say you
