Are young people crazy, naive, stupid or just overly impressed by our parenting?

It seems like when parents do a good job of parenting their children through the minefield of the teenage years, get them through high school, and then the next thingyou know they wanna get married. Or even more fun they just wanna go shack up with the boy/girl from next door. The next thing you hear from them is that they are in love and they wanna start a family with their little boyfriend/girlfriend. Why are they in such a hurry to get started on that family are they crazy? naive? Don't they realize how time intensive and how tough raising a child in this day and age is? Not to mention how expensive and how stressful raising a child is? Did we do too good a job at making the whole parenting thing look way too easy? Are they so impressed with how easy it looks? Don't they realize that there is so much time for them to start a family after they get out there and live a little?(1

Sharone, I honestly believe that they have absolutely zero idea of how much work it really is. It must just seem totally idyllic to them. And I'm with you, I don't understand.

Maybe it is just part of their bid to appear all grown up and to make people take them seriously as adults.
