Responding doesn't earn anymore?

So I only had a few minues last night before I went to bed, and I made a few responses. Each was over 10 lines long and of what I would consider high quality. Now I didn't expect to earn much, but even a cent or two would have been nice. I got 0.00 Now I find that a little frustrating. I know things have changed in the last few weeks since I haven't been here, but I guess I didn't realise how much. So can anyone clarify whether we get compensated for responding to others discussions anymore? What else has changed?

Can you give me an example of some of the changes that have been implemented? For example does that really short and meaningless reponse you just made earn you any money?

Its really nothing to be alarmed about. In three weeks over three thousand persons joined mylot. So i think its something with their servers they need to update them and you will see everything moving faster on mylot. Once you make a response you would see your money go up in no time.

I think your earnings for that response credited to next day. It was happening to me also sometimes my earnings credited to next day especially if I do response after 12 hours after updated.

So because I responded 22 hours after earning were updated, it may not show up until the next update? Thats quite a feasible explanation actually. Thanks. Has anyone else had this happen to them?

Yes, I think that is what happened. It´s also happened to me, I got paid the following day.

Yeah, I think istanto hit it right on the head. I posted a few pictures a few days ago and checked my earnings the next day. Nothing for images. I didn't load any more pictures that day, but the following day I had $.48 earnings from pictures. I think their server is probably on a different time than yours. So their days end earlier than yours do. Probably tomorrow you will get on and see that you have been credited for all the discussions you responded to yesterday.

Indeed, discussions pay little lately. Mylot pays better if the discussion is from one of your intrests and if you also add a picture. It's quite strange that you didn't get anything, maybe the earnings didn't updated untill you checked them. Look at the "earnings" page and check that day again, maybe you did get something after all... all the best!

I responded to other discussions yesterday and didnt start one, today Im not going to respond to any but I have started a couple, and lets see if that pays. Id hate to see this site labelled as unpaying- Ive been here for so long now...

i think to earn here is responding rather posting but your experience makes me disappointed

Since when is it against the rules to ask for others opinions and experiences? LOL. Mate, Ive been here for a long time, it seems some changes have been made regarding stars and whatever in the last few weeks, but dont try to act like you know everything. Thanks for your "opinion" but i disagree and think that high horse of yours isnt gonna get you far ;)

According to the rules of MyLot this is something you should discuss with support and not post a discussion for it. Members can not help you correct a problem if it even exist. Only support can do that and your issue should be taken up with support instead of trying to start a long discussion about payments. It is again against the rules of MyLot and more than likely anyone posting here willnot be paid and I think they should not be paid as it is a issue that should be taken up with support.

Megs got a point there. the reason why we post our responses here is to get points and earn $$. Otherwise, we would have post our comments at some other forums, blogs or websites. I hope myLot will keep its promise and pay accordingly. I have been disappointed with other websites, which closes down after a few months and never pay me. I hope Megs gets her earnings.

I don't really have any idea how this works either, I'm just reading all that I can and winging it. I figure if I give it a couple of days I will have the hang of it.

You are right about myLot and them contacting you. I sent messages to them before on similar issues and did not get any responses. I think that if they say you should contact them by sending PM they would at least send a response to let you know that they read your message even if they ain't gonna do nothing about it. I still love myLot though.

Its just so frustrating though. Some common courtesy wouldnt go astray. People complain about other sites, but I dunno... I'm not gonna go there.

Please read a discussion before respomding, this issue has already been adressed. I'm not a newbie here, nor am I stupid, illiterate or incompetent in the English language. I was paid NOTHING for responding. Simple. I wouldnt mind some clarification from admin regarding this matter, but hey that wont happen, when was the last time they conatcted anyone about anything?

It could have been a system error in your earnings or it may show up on tomorrows statistics. You certainly do still get paid for responding to others posts so I think there may have been an error. Maybe there is a delay in the posting of your earnings. I would give it another day and then if it does not reflect anything, to let myLot know about it.

I've noticed when I respond late at night, or really early in the morning, like 2 or 3 am, it doesn't show up till the following day. Maybe depending on what time zone you're in, it's really already the next day whereever mylot is. Understand? lol

I have had some pay less than others but I think it is the topic and the quality and whether you rate and tag.

That's odd, I've never noticed it myself, but I never looked out for it. I really wish we could see how much we earned for each topic/response.

Heya Megs, Welcome back, I agree with you that we dont seem to get paid much anymore, although its only been the last few days for me that I have noticed it. I have stayed at about the same response level of between 5-30 responses a night and I used to earn between 5c-$1.00 but the last few nights I have only earned like 10c for at least 20 responses which has been pretty annoying. As for what else has changed? Were you here when they bought in the star rating next to your name to indicate the negative and positive responses you get? Tanika.

No Tanika i wasnt, so its an indication of how people rate you is it? Interesting concept, probably not the most accurate indication of ones abilities or quality, but interesting. Yeah, I used to make an average of 15 responses for 2 bucks. Any money is good money in my opinion, but it would have been nice to see something, anything at all lol, even ten cents ;) Any other changes I should know about?

I think sometimes it just takes a little while to catch up. I'm fairly sure I had one day near the end of Dec where it seemed like I'd not earnt anything but then a few days later it was there (I admit that I often can't remember what the previous days total was to know how much it went up by - without going into my earnings page which I very rarely do) Sometimes too I wonder if they are now developing a lag time between responses and payment updates in case they need to verify things - ie not fully updating the earings for a few days in case some responses/discussions get deleted etc - does that make sense. Oh and as for changes, someone already mentioned the star thing - 'bout the only other thing you may have noticed is that if you go into discussions by interest now you get the pictures rather than just an update of all your interests discussions (and I prefer it the old way - so if anyone knows how to change it can you let me know :-) )

I guess you have to use the "Respond to this Discussion" rather than the comment. It would be nice if comments gave post counts too, or money, but i don't really think they do... If you responded to discussions, you should have been paid, Maybe look into why you weren't.

I've only recently joined, but I've noticed that for my 9 or 10 posts, plus a new topic I started I've managed to earn 16 cents. Don't get me wrong, I didn't join for huge rewards, but my understanding was when I joined that the rewards were a little better than I've recieved so far.

I think they may have been bad discussions and werent kept in mylot. Ask the mylot people in an email.

Since you have responded to at least a few discussion, you should have been paid for it. But try and respond again whether your points are decreasing. If your points are decreasing to the number of posts that you have posted then it means the posts that you have responded to have been deleted by the mylot team because of some policy violation and hence naturally you are not paid, this is the only reason i could think of you not being paid.

Or, i had a doubt that mylot updates its payment 1 day late, i.e. if you post it today, your payment will reflect only day after tomorrow. Since you did not post anything the day before and hence you did not get paid and see whether your payment increases today.

I think we can still earn thru responding to other topics. Maybe your points will add the next day for sometimes it also happened to me when I respond alot but did not get much but the next I dont respond much I get higher earnings.
27 Jan 07
After reading your post i'm starting to wonder if there was something dodgy going on with the mylot system yesterday as I posted loads of replies, in fact I think I made more posts than I ever had before, and I only got 0.16. Whereas the day before I got over twice that amount for half as many posts. I always try to make quality responses so I can't understand why there would be such a fluctuation in the payment rate. I hope things pick up for you soon.

A good question, I'm new here and made 7 responses and one new topic, which after three days has no replies and earnt a total of 16 cents for my efforts this far, that's a lot of typing for little or no return.

Tell ya what; the person that makes the most $$ in here outta make an ebook about: How I did it in mylot.com & sell it on eBay. lol

LOL, Ive got a bit of a guide going in my blog (the links in my profile) but its probably a little outdated now- theyve implemented some new changes LOL I have actually been paid twice by Mylot so Im not worried bout that, more on whether the earnings updates are always accurate. This community is huge now, how do they keep up?
