What would you do? How would you react...

if you saw a "blast from your past" and the relationship ended on an EXTREMELY sour note. You want to be mature about the encounter, because you are happy now and realize that you were and are better off with out him. You are walking up the same street on the same side and you have to cross paths. What would you do?

I have had this happen a few times, the first time I handled it all wrong, I allowed my nerves to get the better of me, and said things i didnt want to say and really went 50 steps backwards. However now when I get an unexpected blast from my past I keep the present in perspective, today I am a mom, i am a woman, not a child. I try to speak softly and do not delve into the past unless I feel I can handle it respectfully and maturely.

Exactly, that is what I am talking about. I want to handle it with class, maturity and respect. Showing that I am not the same and that I have changed, moved on and grown in a great way at every level. Thanks!!!

I've actually had this happen! Smile really big, say hello, and as you pass wink at them!

Ok, but I am married now, I think I would be disrespecting myself and my husband if I were to wink at him - don't you think? I mean I want him to know that there are no hard feelings (although I left him) but I don't want to be flirty at all
