okay anyone out there read Dawkins latest book. Being that he is an Atheist you know where the book is heading but the arguments that he runs through to get there are worth the read no matter what your religious outlook. Did anyone find it offensive? Enlightening? Life Changing? Pointless?

Like all his other books, Dawkins's "God Delusion" is brilliantly written and based on reason and rational arguments. When I first read "The Selfish Gene", I thought that this man was writing down my thoughts -- and in a much better way than I could -- and admired him right away. In this world where unfounded superstitions are worming their way in most civilisations, it is reassuring to see that there are still people trying to open the mind of the nations before it's too late. Like the late Carl Sagan before him, he's trying to put a stop to this horrible decent into dark ages where reason is being happily slaughtered to make room for deleterious dogmas. The notion of 'God' is a virus that's definitely more dangerous than HIV and others. Dawkins shows us that the cure resides inside us: its name is REASON.

Hi there! I've read a quarter of the book - really powerful stuff, written in Dawkins' incredibly witty, piercing style! A real joy to read! I'm agnostic so I don't find it offensive - I'm sure certain religious people will find his book offensive though. Everyone should read it - to get a balanced perspective of life, and to enjoy Dawkins' literary style. Cheers! Andre www.theultimatesuccessmanual.com

I think that its worth reading no mater what faith or beliefs you hold as there is a lot of philosophical and historical ideas in there that broaden the mind.

I haven't read the book but I did hear a talk he gave about the subject - it was hilarious and sharp and controversial - and I loved it. There is a transcript here http://abc.net.au/rn/backgroundbriefing/stories/2006/1794986.htm Hope you enjoy it!
