Novelty Egg Cups

Anyone here got any? I have some glass chickens, soldiers, an origional Dougal from the Magic Roundabout (1970's) and have just ordered a VW Camper eggcup. Anyone here got any/ collect them? Which ones do you have?

Ow Wow! Rainbow! I lurve all collectables and I have some very old egg cups. I remember Dougal but unfortunately my brother got there first and it was not only the egg shell that got broken :-(. I have a pale yellow pottery egg cup in the shape of a chicken which dates from about the 1930s and an elephant character in a chalky pottery which is slightly earlier. he is a very elegant elephant with green trousers held up with braces and a red top! I have others packed away, but those two are always on display in my cabinet.

Poor Dougal, but yours sound really cool, probably worth hanging on to, who knows may be worth something. My mum used to have some eggs on legs bt I don't know what happened to them. Gabs laughed at me last night when I ordered my VW Camper, bless her. Lifes to short, why not have fun with your egg cups, I love mine.

I dare not have fun with my egg cups. I have what we call "butter fingers" coupled with very poor balance. Anything which is a family heirloom or collectable has to be safely behind locked cabinet doors, and even then we can not be sure i won't trip and knock the whole cabinet over! I am a terrible collectoholic and I shall probably add to my collection, particularly chickens, as I am now looking for one of those large chicken shaped egg keepers, and when we move house the cups and chicken egg keeper will make a good display, provided it is on a high shelf out of my reach lol.

I will keep an eye out for a chicken for you, they often appear in charity shops, my friend has a rather splendid blue one that was her mums. If I find a nice one I will send it to you. I'm sorry you have to lock your things up, mine are all high up because of my boys. Are you planning on moving house soon?
