            if you are considering becoming a vegetarian but are unsure of  how you'd get all your proteins, you should try seitan.  seitan (say-tan) is a wheat-gluten product that is used as a substitute for chicken, beef, and pork.  it cooks like meat, and any flavor you add to the seitan it will absorb it.  
my favorite thing to do with it is make boiled "chicken" and yellow rice.  YUMMY!
