lpt1 dongle to a usb or pcmcia card???????????

While there are relatively inexpensive USB-parallel printer adaptors, they generally won't work for what you're trying to do. I did find this ( http://compusb.stores.yahoo.net/pcmcia-lpt-pcmcia-printer-port.html ) that should do what you need, but I'm not familiar with the product itself, so I'm not 100% sure that it will work.
