Whom do you choose girl with looks and brain or just money?

Recently one of my friend got married to a girl who was rich but she never tried to understand him. He had a gf with whom he was for past 1 year. Now he is in a situation where he is not satisfied with his wife and is repenting why did he leave that girl for money? What do you suggest he should do? Shall he leave his wife and go back with his gf which i dont think would have been waiting for him or find a new partner in life?
