Hi! I was wondering if anyone could give me suggestions on a new puppy...I want a short haired toy breed dog that isn't going to be much of a yapper. Any suggestions will be helpful. Also, please tell me a little about the breed that you are suggesting. Thanks.

My grandma has a papillon named precious. she is only a yapper when people drive up in their drive way. and she isnt short haired. she has very long hair, but she is so cute, and sweet. She isnt too fond of children though. she has never hurt one but she always runs to the nearest adult when one comes into the room. I dont know much about small dogs, i like the bigger ones, but thats a little info on a papillon

Those are really cute dogs. They are SO expensive though. LOL My great uncle has one & I love it! Maybe I could get lucky & find a cheaper one. Thanks for the suggestion.

Most of the toy breeds that I have been around were pretty much yappers. lol But if you look around I am sure you'll find one quiet enough for you.

Thanks for your input. My mom had a pomeranian & it wasn't a yapper...I don't want something that furry though. LOL It could depend on how it's raised though.

Get a pug. They're not considered toy dogs, but they are pretty small. They have short hair and don't bark much at all. And they are the sweetest dogs. They're actually like big babies. If you want a lap dog, they're definitely for you.
