I was thinking the other day of what I could live without and what I really need. (because I'm a big baby!). I could not live without electricity, running water, and I must have a furnance. I hate being cold. I could live without my TV as long as I had books. I could even live without my computer if I had to. So what is it you could live with or without?

Originally I m from Florida, and when I moved up North, I experienced an ice storm.. Anyway, I was without electricy for several days. It was a new apartment so everything was electrial. So, although I had water, I had no way to heat it. The stove was electric, so I couldn't eat or heat anything up. I could read only in the day as after 24 hours I went through all my candles. Adding insult to injury, I couldn't even call to order a pizza as my phone was electric too.. hahaha.. Over all without the basics of electricity, life sucks...I wonder how the Amish do it :D

I hate being cold more than anything. Being hungry is probably 2nd. I could not do the Amish lifestyle. Basically I am so thankful I was born with the good stuff. How long were you without electricity? 2 hours about my limit! LOl

5 Days!!. After the first day, all the tuna fish was gone. Since then, about 3 years ago, I haven't eaten tuna fish. My days and nights got mixed up because it was dreary and overcast during that time. 7AM and 7PM looked the same. I walked next door to a restaurant and they couldn't open because of course they didn't have electricity either.. My neighbor and I decided to cook all the food in the freezer on the grill.. So, there we stood in the snow huddled around the grill waiting for pieces of meat to be cooked.. Kinda liked a forced Atkins Diet..hahahha Looking back.. I have no idea how I made it

I live in Minnesota so I know what you mean about the dreary days. What you have described is one of my worst nightmares. Lol. So do you still live in a cold climate? On a daily basis I remind my husband why it would be good to move somewhere 70 and sunny year around. Now I have a new one to add. Thanks.
