How many of us can say that we do not encourage child labour? We use the work of them indirectly. In India aroung 1.6 crore of the children are used to work. Why not the Government is taking a severe action in abolishing child labour completely. Though there are many voluntary organizations who give hands to such children, it would be more helpful if the government directly involve in this issue and bring a country without Child Labour.

I agree with you, nowadays child labor has been very prevalent and I don't understand why parents are doing these...here in Philippines, this case is also very evident... same with you, am praying that in a way or two our government would act on this coz it's really pitiful seeing those small children work so hard while their parents are doing nothing, drinking, playing cards along the streets, gossiping...it's really frustrating..

Anti child labour day was observed on june 12th. The government single handedly cant solve this problem. An awareness in civilians should be arised regarding the impact of putting the future generation in small earning labor. Children are innocent, hence mainly their parents need to be given the main awarness about their children life. Additionally the laborers should be penalised highly to an extent that they should not think an option to hire childrens for low paid jobs. Something concrete has to be done to abolish their poverty,to take care of their education etc.

Sometimes I wonder whether governments think beyond their politcal noses men82in, they see social problems and lose focus on the seriousness of the problem. In my own country, child labour is ripe, but his combines with child neglect and you find very many dirty street children scavenging for survival and Presidents are here jostling for honor in CHOGM and othe Heads of Goernment meetings, pay leap services to these problems, I feel very offended when I think deep about the plight of children the world over.

child labor is really a social problem too large that the government can handle if thery put it intheir priority list. If family income can only be at a decent level. the child labor will be addressed.

There is a law against employing child labour. But in view of larger population and seeing child as a wage earner many parents send their children for work. In organized sector, you will not not find many children working. Also if a child is found working, factory management has to provide for child's education etc. But in unorganized sector this problem is still serious. In Delhi, you can see many children moving between traffic at traffic signals, either begging or selling newspapers, magazines and other items.Police and everybody see them but no body does anything. Should these children not be in school? Making law is one essential aspect. Implementing the law with full sincerity and honesty of purpose is another equally essential aspect. Indis lacks in implementation.

There is nothing wrong to have a child do chores or help you when you are cleaning something up. I say it is wrong to have a child do a full time job like an adult has to do. I see it with gray areas as oppose to black and white.

i can absolutely say that i can never be accused nor guilty of this act in any count. if ever i will find the need for a worker for anything, i have never ever hired children nor do i intend to do so in the future. it is wise that india will pass a law banning the practice of child labor in your country. if this is not feasible as of this moment, this can be reached by first passing laws which shall protect the children from harsh working environments. they shall be made to work only on areas which shall be easy for children to do. later on, india can come up with a law which shall completely ban the hiring of children for whatever work.
