I believe that the child should chose what degree in college to take or what he wants to become. But sometimes i hope my child can become a doctor or a lawyer. How about you? what do you want your child to be?

i would want my child to be a lawyer, or a doctor, or an engineer, or a scientist. but then, i will support my child (future child)in case he takes a different path and choose a different course. it's my child's life. i respect his decision on how to live his life. as parents, this should be the case. parents should not live the life of their children,.

you're absolutely right. But most of us hope that our children be sucessful. I guess that's what all parents want for their child.

I do not have a set plan nor hope for my child except for the idea of their happiness. I want my children to make something of their life and whatever that may be I will try my damnest to support it as it is their life and not mine. I do not want to try to live vicariously through my children so as long as they are doing something and they are happy.....I do not care!! I would love for my children to be huge sucesses in whatever they choose but even if they have a million failures they will always know that Dad is right here to help them back up. Have a great day!!

I want my daughter to chose to do whatever will make her the happiest. My daughter is an adult and a mother of three boys and she hasn't decided yet what she wants to do with her life. I do not push her. I try to be encouraging and tell her that she can do anything that she wants. I admit that I do mention going back to college once in a while :) I am helping my daughter to raise her three sons, ages 7, 5, and almost 2 years and I want each one of them to go to college and become doctors or some other highly paid professional. Really though, I just want them to be happy too and I will, of course, be mentioning school and college to them once in a while too!
