upload a pic n share with friend is not very much safe in orkut one can missuse it,

yaa exactly even i think that sharing photos in orkut is not safe as people can create a fake account with those photos and spoil a person's name.

Just like any other community your account is vulnerable to getting hacked and your photos could easily be misused by someone who wants to do it.
Its a calculated risk and I'd suggest that you dont have any sensitive details, phone numbers or photos on orkut (or myspace/hi5/any other site!)
