Try to post discussions which people may like and you will get response.Start discussions on current events.Start discussions where others will gain something.Try to attract people for your discussions.Also posting of discussions at right time is required.Also post your discussions in correct interest so that more people read your discussions and respond to it.Try this, I think it will help you.Best of Luck.

I encounter the same problem during my first day but don't get impatient, keep on having quality posts. Try to scan the other posts and see what topics have already been posted to avoid redundancy. Try to keep lots of friends, too. And don't forget to rate them and comment on their posts.
