I think I learn tolerance as some posts some avtars I cannot stand But I don't like to comment about them individually as I don't want to hurt anybody some avtars are really vulgar specially of some ladies and some posts they critisize and put others down, but I think we learn to tolerate all this even if our minds don't agree with this, what have you to say?

Yeah me too. I remember being upset with one of the discussion starter for posting something really stupid. And I didn't hide my kind of rude remark from her. And she was really hurt that she had mentioned the cause of posting such discussion (and it's really biased as I perceived). Consequently I asked her an apology. I mean now, if I can't stand the others I ignore them and I go on. I just have to remind myself always that we can't please and we can't be pleaseb by everybody. People are different. Now I'm more tolerant.

Thank-you for your response, yes you said it rightly we have to be tolerant as everyone is different so we have to bear with them and if we cannot adjust then ignore it.

Yes and no. I've learned that some NESB people are trying very hard and doing a much better job of using English than some of the English speakers. I've learned that myLot is generally a better forum than most, even with a few of the things you mentioned, which are far more common on other forums. Don't know about tolerance as such. I think you learn from the novelty as much as the clashes of taste and opinions. Maybe understanding, more than tolerance. I'm not too tolerant of abusers, or people who don't even read headers, or whose idea of a quality post wouldn't cover a postage stamp. You mentioned vulgarity. "Attention getting" might be another description. Some people have pretty unambiguous avatars, but post pretty good discussions and responses. Others have positively banal avatars, and post equally uninteresting things.
