Soak the bread in eggnog mixed with an egg that's beaten. It is a different twist. Layer it into a buttered dish and bake 350* until browned. Watch it, you don't want it to be dryed out. It should be wet. Then sever it sprinkled with cinnamon and powdered sugar on top.

Here are a couple of different recipes. Also, the website at the bottom has quite a few varieties of different bread puddings. I hope it's helpful to you. I hope your bf enjoys too. OLD FASHIONED BREAD PUDDING bread and biscuits from a week's worth of cooking. milk 2 eggs sugar cinnamon vanilla Use the bread and biscuits from a week's worth of cooking. Break all the crumbs up in a large bowl. Add 2 eggs and 3/4 cup sugar and 1 tsp each of cinnamon and vanilla. Begin to mix in milk until you have a very thick cake-like batter. Spoon mixture into a well buttered 8 by 8 square pan and bake for about 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool, cut into squares. BREAD PUDDING 1 cup bread 2 cups milk 2 eggs 2 Tablespoons sugar 1/4 cup sugar grated lemon rind lemon flavoring Remove crusts from bread. Pour milk over soft bread. Allow to stand until soft, about 30 minutes. Separate eggs. Add egg yolks, slightly beaten, 2 Tablespoons sugar, and grated rind of 1 lemon. Pour into buttered baking dish and set in pan of water to bake until it sets. Beat egg whites until stiff, gradually adding scant 1/4 cup sugar while beating, and a dash of lemon extract, lemoncello, or lemon juice (whatever you have). Spread the egg white mixture out on top of the pudding while still warm, then return to oven until slightly golden brown. Cool, and just before serving add a spoon of tart jelly in the center of the meringue of each serving http://www.thatsmyhome.co...

you can try this: Doughnut Bread Pudding ==================================================== INGREDIENTS * 4 stale raised glazed donuts * 1/2 cup raisins or other dried fruit * 2 eggs (room temperature) * 1 (12 fluid ounce) can evaporated milk * 2 tablespoons white sugar (optional) * 1 teaspoon vanilla extract * 1/4 teaspoon almond extract (optional) * 1 teaspoon grated orange zest * 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon * 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg DIRECTIONS 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a small glass baking dish. 2. Tear the donuts into bite-size pieces. Combine donut pieces and raisins in the prepared baking dish. In a medium bowl, use an electric mixer to blend together the eggs, evaporated milk, sugar, vanilla extract and almond extract. Mix in the cinnamon and nutmeg. Pour the milk mixture over the donuts in the dish, and press down lightly to help absorption. Let stand for 15 minutes, or cover and refrigerate overnight. 3. Place the baking dish inside a larger baking dish, and fill the outer dish with enough water to go about halfway up the sides. A dishcloth may also be placed under the bread dish, to prevent drying. 4. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean. Serve warm. Note This recipe can easily be doubled, but be sure to use a larger baking dish. Your baking time may increase by about 15 minutes too. ========================================================= Gramma's Apple Bread Pudding ============================================================= INGREDIENTS * PUDDING * 4 cups soft bread cubes * 1/4 cup raisins * 2 cups peeled and sliced apples * 1 cup brown sugar * 1 3/4 cups milk * 1/4 cup margarine * 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon * 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract * 2 eggs, beaten * * VANILLA SAUCE * 1/4 cup white sugar * 1/4 cup brown sugar * 1/2 cup milk * 1/2 cup margarine * 1 teaspoon vanilla extract DIRECTIONS 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 7x11 inch baking dish. 2. In a large bowl, combine bread, raisins, and apples. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine 1 cup brown sugar, 1 3/4 cups milk, and 1/4 cup margarine. Cook and stir until margarine is melted. Pour over bread mixture in bowl. 3. In a small bowl, whisk together cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla, and eggs. Pour bread mixture into prepared dish, and pour egg mixture over bread. 4. Bake in preheated oven 40 to 50 minutes, or until center is set and apples are tender. 5. While pudding is baking, mix together sugar, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup milk, and 1/2 cup margarine in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, then remove from heat, and stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla. Serve over bread pudding. Happy cooking!!!!!!!!!!!!!
