Like, what kind of discussion is that? I see people who just post recipes and that's it. What kind of discussion is that and how can you answer that? Do you report people like this?

I wouldnt report it and I actually post them too sometimes. Not for it to be a big discussion for everyone, but to share a great recipe. Some people find them really useful and enjoy hearing of ones they have not tried.

For some people this sort of "discussion" is great and they can actually exchange some really good recipes as well as give advice on how to cook something really special, and as myLot is also about helping people I don't have a problem with it. From time to time I have read some of these recipes but have never posted one myself, although I do enjoy seeing how others make things. I do have to say that in some cases they are more interesting that some of the discussions that I have seen. :) I do not report these members, because I do not think they are harming anyone, although of course if someone repeatedly posted the same recipe into several discussions I might be tempted to report the person. All I can suggest is that you treat it like any other discussion that does not interest you, and that is to ignore them.

I love to post recipes but only do when they are asked for, but I also do searches for recipes that others have posted, it is always nice to view others preferences in certain dishes and I think this is great place to express all the wonderful recipes that others have.

no. i'm not reporting those people.by responding to their discussions i simply thank them for sharing their recipes and i will post also some recipes (as a reply) that are the same variety for example if someone post a chocolate cookie recipe then i will respond with a peanut butter cookie recipe but thanking them first for posting their recipe

I don't report it either. I reply to them usually when they are looking for a particular recipe. It is a nice way to exchange recipes, also. If you aren't interested in them, just pass them by. If you think one sounds good, reply and tell them it sounds good, or ask any other question about the recipe you may have. Or you can post a similar one if you like. If someone loves cooking, recipes can be considered a genuine topic in that interest.

hi it really depends. i have also started a discussion once about potato recipes . and i've seen many asking for chicken recipies and stuff. you know some people do have great recipes. Like once i got a great soup recipe. so it's fine. unless they go on and on about something copied from net - if they write it themselves i'm cool with it.

I would not report it. Sometimes you can get some new ideas for making foods. Those posts sure do make me hungry, though. But, I agree, there isn't a whole lot you can add to that kind of discussion.
