Do you wash your hands before you prepare food?

I always do this, I was always taught to do this by my parents and it's a habit that I've always carried on with. I went on a hygiene course and the amount of germs you find out about and how easy it is to get cross-contamination of foods and all the bugs that can be spread through not washing your hands, makes you paranoid! The worse thing for me is as you said people not washing their hands after they have been to the toilet, there is no excuse, it's just plain laziness.

I wash my hands all the time,especially after going to the bathrrom and before cooking. It is gross not to wash your hands.Yes I noticed allready the help they have in a cafes dont always wash there hands,I seen one of the cooks wipe off his forhead and than he touched the toast. that was sick.

Yes it is disgusting and I guess in real Life they wouldn't do that well I hope they wouldn't lol Yes I believe washing my Hands to and I guess many People would

hi there again, i have a bad habit of washing my hands, i will wash them literaly after i have touched anything at all, what i think is absolutely disgusting is you may have noticed this, if you go into say a piza takeaway, the staff will take the money off you with there bare hands and then go and cook the food, eeeww that is gross, and they just don't realise how dirty oney really is! good discussion rated +! :O)

yes, I was brought up this way as well, yes it is strange how we never see them wash their hands now that you mention it. No I did not really notice until you put it in your discussion here.

Absolutely i wash my hands before leaving the bathroom and before cookin and like i tell my son tv is not reality its tv they dont wash there hands because its not in the script

Yes I do wash my hands before cooking as it is a right thing to do to make healthy food.

Ohh dear I know .. it's awful isn't it .. trouble is we know they can't show all the little bits and pieces that 'should' go on or they'd never get to the plot .. but it doesn't show good hygiene care to those who are watching .. and for some people that's where they learn behaviour from .. I was taught the 'old fashioned' ways too .. and washing hands after the toilet and before meals or preparing food is pretty much common sense but some folks just don't seem to have that much common sense these days do they ..

I always wash my hands before eating or preparing a meal, and after using the restroom. I usually wash them so much that I have to carry hand lotion with me because they get too dried out. Ever since I had to take a food safety course, I have become very much aware of the filthiness and carelessness of prep cooks, waiters, etc. Especially in fast food places. It is pretty disgusting and stomach churning.
