If you saw someone shoplifting would you ignore it or report it?

i saw someone recently steal something in a store that i was at, but i was afraid to report it.

I guess most people would want to report it, but on the other hand not want to get involved. I can see how you would feel, but thankfully that opportunity has never presented itself to me.
