How many kilowatts do you use a month, do you use 600 kwt a month? I live ina a two bedroom apartment , I only use 650 kwatts a month and I have to pay 80 - 100 $ a month.I wouldn`t mind it but my neighbours who live in the same building are paying 1/2 what I pay. I only use 1 bedroom , and they all use both bedrooms . You see I used to live in the basement and my bills were HALF what tehy are now , I lived there for 6 years , while I lived there the building was sold , no problem I said , and I asked if I could have the next apartment above me . yes he said and I moved up as soon as it became available( that was two yrs ago ) my light bill has doubled since then . Thenafter I moved upstair I find out that my upstairs neighbour had beenpaying for my stove , that mystove (down stairs) was on the light bill upstairs. I thought I had it corrected BUT obviously NOT. I went to tje power company again and they don`t have an answer . What would you do in this situation ???????????????????

That sounds like a lot for an apartment were you only use one of the bedrooms. Your electric company should be able to come out and do an energy analysis for you -- it is usually a free service and they can help you discover what is using so much electricity and what you can do to reduce your useage. Hope you can find out soon!

I know , but here I have to pay for the inspection . I have had the power company out 3 times and so far nothing. It is always my fault , butI still wonder why it is so much more than teh others in the building . I still only use 650 kwatts a month we`ll see what my bill is next month... STAY TUNED LETS COMPARE

You are so right I thought of that after I ahad been here about 3 months ago. I did tell tje girl downstairs , and she also said that she mentioned this to the last landlord. She also said he wqas supposed to have it fixed . Which he was in the process of doing after I move upstairs. Which apparently he never did. SO now I don`t know what to do . I had already told the girl downstairs ( she is anew tenant again) , and again nothing . What would you do . They`ve had 3 electriians here so far and they were here to fix the problem with the lights and none have done it right . Will I be charged the fee or can I make the old owners pay their share , and the new landlord pay his share , and then what thats what I`msaying what would you do ? I am at a loss here , doi I bring in my own electrician and bill the landlord , and may be take the loss ? What would you do ? Thsnx alot

Sounds like there are some major problems in your building. Have you checked with your landlord to see if the wiring is up to date?

Actually since I`ve been here (July of 1999) I`ve gone through 3 landlords , each landlord did their own wiring , to me that seems to be the problem . None of the landlords are licensed electricians , with saying that if it were you would you have it inspected again and if there is a charg would you then charge the landlord . Thank-you for your input I will speak with the power company to see about an inspection again , to me there has r=to be something wrong
