Have you ever read a book that you never get tired of reading over and over? What is your favorite book and would you recommend it to your friends?

I have read The Outsiders but I think I prefer the movie. Lots of good looking guys in that flick! ;)

When I was younger, I used to read "Black Beauty" by Anna Sewell over and over again. I loved how the story was told from a horse's point of view. The only book that I've managed to read over and over again as an adult is "Memoirs of a Geisha". The book was definitely better than the movie.

I have one like that. It's called The Deed of Pakesenerrion by Elizabeth Moon. I keep it in the car and pick it up when ever I have to wait for someone so I've read it a lot. Actually had to get a new copy of it this year since the old one fell a part. The other is a series by Piers Anthony called The Incarnations of Immortality. I recommend those a lot too. Very good series and I like all the books in it although my favorite was For Love of Evil, the sixth book.

I have never read a book more than once. I have way too many books in my house waiting for me to read them that if I have time to read it will be one of those books, not one I have already read. I'm actually reading 3 at a time right now, plus trying to get through the last two issues of Reader's Digest. There just aren't enough hours in a day!

Yes, I have read a few books like that. The first one that comes to mind though is Swiss Family Robinson by Johann David Weiss. It's a wonderful family friendly story that I take something new away from every time I read it. Also, I would recommend the Earth's Children Series by Jean M. Auel. They're excellent stories, well written and very informative. Jean Auel does a LOT of research for her books and averages around 10 years to write them.

I never get tired of W. Somerset Maugham's "The Razor's Edge". I read it once a year (every year since 1985), and then give the copy away to someone and buy a new one. It would be the favorite I recommend to my friends, along with Carlos Ruiz Zafon's "The Shadow of the Wind."

I've read a book a few times, it seems like I always find something that i missed the fist time, and it's cool to find it.

Wow.. just A book?!? I don't think I could limit it down to just one. I am constantly telling people that they just HAVE to read the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon and the Earth Children series by Jean Auel. These are both such great series written by brilliant authoresses. The books are so very well written. The characters so real. You can't help but fall into the stories as you read them.

I haven't seen these books displayed in our area. Maybe I'll browse the internet to see if they're available locally. I've seen several posts by you that you really like these books so I'm a bit intrigued. I'll let you know if I can get them locally.
