I need some advice on this matter above. I have my first baby and now she is 6 month+. I seem don't quite sure or know what are the things I must do or prepare for her, if she is sick. May I know some opinion from parent out there? Thanks in advance.

In addition to the paediatrician, what I normally do is to have some medication on hand like paracetomol syrup for children, chlomine syrup for allergies, runny nose and bricanyl syrup for coughs with phlegm. That was what my friend who's also a paeditrician recommended for me to bring overseas when I had to follow hubby who was posted there for 4 years. Of course, if your child does not get better within a couple of days, it's still better to bring your child to the doctor.

when i had my first baby, and he got sick, the first thing that i did was to "convince" myself not to panic. I always made it a point to have the presence of mind to call the doctor, to give him first aid medications, and to immediately bring him to the clinic if necessary. I also always had ready supplies of rehydration fluids, paracetamol, suppository for very high fever. For my first baby, i went thru a lot. He had urinary tract infection that wouldn't go away for 3 months. He underwent series of tests for his kidneys, bladder, etc. until finally, he was diagnosed for Phimosis (excess in foreskin), and was circumcised at 10 months. After that, he was OK.

Well taking care of babies is a real ardous task. You need to be prepared for that. Most important thing is that you introduce yourself to a pediatretian close to your home so that in case of emergency you can immediately meet him. Other remedies like water with sugar and salt will help dehydration if your baby passes stools more than four times etc. Will add to the list soon.

Thank you aneer72. Really appreciate your advice. I agree with you. Babies is real arduous task. I 'll make sure I have proper contact with my pediatrician.

I say "relax". Babies getting sick is a very natural thing. It will help their immune system get stronger. But you have to be alert and observant for any unusual symptoms.

I try to relax. But, sometime she cries and this make me felt so sorry for her. I can't do much. I seldom just want to cry with her. Want to share her sickness.
