are cable companies scamming us?

i hate watching tv late at night or early in the morning have you ever noticed all the ads/sale shows infomercials that are 30 minutes to an hour long? we have to pay cable stations for the privelege of watching how everybody needs spraypaint for balding heads??? the funny thing is we pay to watch commercials the info is crap and these fly by night product dealers pay the cable company for making us! i have like 100 channels and was up really late one night and i found church, infomercials, and country music, news 80 percent infomercials ???i think the cable company is getting it both ways!! no wonder i see so many ads on the net!!! what do you think? are we getting shang-hied [not the word i'd choose but to be polite] by the cable company?
