Is Amitabh a epitome of male chauvinism?

In one of the interviews to one of the leading news channels of the country, Mr.Amitabh Bachan, when questioned on Aishwarya Rai's career after the wedding, for which he had to say that, Quote "It is left to Abhishek, as she is getting married to him and not to me" unquote. This very response astonished me. So it was clear from his response, that he was the person who decided on the career of Jayabachan. He being in such a high celebrity slot, whould have expected him to say, "Its left to them to decide, mutually".
