Using hand breaks obviously much effective. You need to practice allot to get perfect turns, but those perfect ones are doable.

I have noticed that using the handbrake and removing the foot from the accelerator, wichever type of corner to higest speed can be covered. If you observe the faster drivers of the artificial intelligence, you can see that also they use this driving technique, a light smoked of the rear wheels during the corner indicates that they are using the handbrake. This is only for need for speed, in other games and in the real driving, don't make it!! :)

I have noticed that only useing the hand break on sharp turns is better. The rest of the time just accelerate!

I find if you let off the gas you can get control of the vechile very easily. The hand brake will make you spin or fish tail.

i simply set free the accelerator and make turns,u can use this if only u have the knowledge of the route map or u r perfect with the map,try this its easy then applying breaks,u can apply breaks only when u think it need while turning without accelerator.

Hand brakes are of great help to avoid collision when in high speed just before the turn, otherwise, it's better to just set free a little the accelerator, so you don't lose too much speed and can get out of the curve faster. It's also recommended that you learn how to steer properly, some guides can be found on www.gamefaqs.com =] Hope this helped you! Bye!

i like to use the handbrake in the game for certain turns for others at least in the newer games use your speed breaker and once facing the right way stop the speed breaker or slow down mode then sometimes a little bit of nos is helpful but thats for those 45 degree angle turns

but 45 degree turns can be made easily by simply loosing the accelerator for a while...i have seen that hand break is required when u need a sharp blind turn ..and while doing it sometimes tyres get sked quite roughly...wt u think??

while moving thru sharp edges leave the accelerator and give the brake and when the turn comes give the acceleration at the max due to this the car will be draged again to the track with out hiting any thing try this and see u will find it out..

hey actually this depends on the turns ..so whenever there is a ordinary turn (u can see in the map) u can just leave the accelerator down and can proceed ..for this firstly u have to leave the accelerator just give pressure on the arrow keys (to which direction u have to turn) for a moment and accelerate.. using this technique we can turn without losing a significant speed and when the turn comes to the sharp turns -use speed breaker i think the ctrl key in the keyboard this can do a good job.. or using hand breakes we can take any sharp turns..

U were the first girl whom i saw playing NFS CARBON .. I tht of PMing u but cldn't :( so replying here. ok ok sorry for going off topic. according to my experience with all of NFS games loosing accelerator is more effective than the hand brake. Guess what i never used nor use handbrake in whole of my game except sometimes which is very rare. U can use general breaks instead if u r at very high speeds and u need to slow down a bit so as to make a tight turn. I hope my response helps u :) Me new to mylot so still learning how to respond lol !
