Foods are the fuel for our body to run normally. They are the source of our essential nutritions. Among them some are especially helpful for us to have sweet sleep in the night. Banana: The fruit has a combination of melatinin and serotonin which act like natural sleeping pills. There is also magnesium in the fruit which is a muscle relaxant. Chamomile tea: The drink has sedating effect which is a perfect natural antidote for the restless mind and bodies. Warm milk: It has tryptophanan amino acid. This part of the drink has also sedative effect. The calcium in milk helps the brain use tryptophan which is helpful for the brain get relaxation.

So at weekend you can sleep at night and on week day you sleep in daytime. I imagine this is hard to adapt. Well, may be a glass of milk will help you sleep well. I have tried drinking that whenever I can't sleep many times. Each time I took the whitish drink, I just snored all the way through my dreams until next morning.

There are actually dozens of foods that may be used to help people sleep well. The ones I listed on the entry are just a few of them.

Sleeping - Guy sleeping on a bed
I never knew there were foods that help a person sleep, I have heard of warm milk but it does not work for me. Through the years I have suffered from insomnia and I am always interested in hearing about things that help a person to sleep. Thanks!!!

Music - My friend uses music as means to put himself into sleep.
If milk is not effective, you may try to play some soft music while you are lying on bed. Some of my friends find it helpful. He just turns on the cd player and play some classical music by Beethoven or Bark in a low volume, then very soon he enters his sweet dreams and stays there until the next morning.

These are all good foods for helping us sleep. Too bad for me that I drink coffee and eat chocolate at night because then I don't sleep!

Do you mean you sleep in the afternoon instead? Its ok if you have enough sleep, no matter you go to bed in daytime or at night. By the way, both coffee and chocolate are good if one doesn't take in too much of them.
