Simon is so mean. He Can't sing himself so he need to quit messing with people because it hurts their feelings. It Hurts me to see people crying because of what simon says and he thinks it is hilarius.How would he likes it if anyone insulted him after trying his very very very best. Exactly he wouldnt so he should stop being mean .

I really don't like it when Simon takes a shot at someone's weight or appearance. To me, that's incredibly immature and if anyone looks bad when someone is made fun of for something they can't control, it's the person pointing the finger. He's like a playground bully who never grew up. I'd never have the nerve to take a cheap shot at someone that way.
I think he can be honest about their singing ability, they need to know the truth, but I agree that making fun of them is 100% wrong.

i know, i was going to ask the same thing (not that i wanna talk trash about the judges) are those 3 judges like professional singers or something? how did they get to judge and how would they know about the voices in singing? i just ask that myself. or did they just pick any judges and let them decide whether the singing is good in there opinion?

Well Simon's a judge because it's his show. He's a producer, so his job is to know good talent when he sees it. Paula Abual was a professional singer in the 80's I think. She even had a few hits. And Randy's some sort of a musician as well. But come on now, you don't need to be a professional singer to tell who can sing and who can't.

"did they just pick any judges?"...no and "they" includes Simon. He thought of American Idol, He produced American Idol and he happens to know talent when he see's it. He also speaks his mind openly, something these people that audition really need if they want to know what to improve on.
And about their looks, these people think that they have alot of potential as professional singers. They are sadly mistaken if they think America as cruel as it is will watch their music videos and go to there concerts if they look like a funky monkey. Face it, people that look beautiful can become famous singers with very little talent because thats a big part of what America wants. American Idol is largely a majority vote based show. This mayority is AMERICA. the show is popular because thats what AMERICA wants to see. Simon is too because thats what America likes. I also like Simon, he makes the show....period. I would probably stop watching the show completely if they, whoever that would be, somehow banished Simon from the show.

i disagree...he may be too mean, sometimes...ok i give you that, but the people who get SO upset with him are really really really bad! You can't tell me that they really think they can sing! LOL When he is mean about a person's looks is when I get aggravated with him. A person can't help it if they aren't born beautiful. But, this is a singing competition...if you can't sing, don't be on the show. No, he probably can't sing, but as he says he's not the one auditioning. He even said once that he woulnd't audition because he knows he can't sing.

Yes he is mean to people allot of time he doesn't even have to be mean. When he makes jokes about how they look or how big they are that's just cruel. He doesn't even have to say allot of those things he says them just because he wants to. I think the only mean things that should be said is about the singing and the personal attacks need to stop.

He doesn't need to be able to sing to know who can sing. He's a producer and has made a lot of money discovering people. If these people get upset, it's their own fault. they know how he is before auditioning for it.

Simon is awesome, If you like American Idol then thats what Simon is all about. American Idol wouldnt exist without Simon because he produced it. Even if it did(long shot), then it would be boring without him. These people that audition and act stupid and get rediculed shouldnt be our next American Idol. They know that before they audition. And if they are SO blinded not to know that, then they need Simon to tell them. They have went their whole lives being told they were super super super awesome singers and it takes alot to convince them different. If you watch the show ONCE you know what to expect from Simon.
People that dont agree with Simon let him know on the show all the time. They insult him all the time. They ask him the same question you ask us. How would he like it? He says he doesnt make a fool of himself trying to sing on National TV. If all the stupid people stopped auditioning it would make finding the next American Idol alot easier. Parents that have a challenged child shouldnt put their kid in front of Simon. Its just common sense, some people dont have that.

Simon is the only one who speaks the truth on that panel. People who try out for American Idol know what they're signing up for and they're going against professional singers. And to my knowledge, Randy isn't so chipper either.
