Have you ever created a batch file. It's useful when a group of commands are to be executed. Similarly virus are group of commands when executed through batch file or an exe files. One of the command is say ( deltree*.*). When a user received that batch file or exe file (said as virus) then the above function get executed & it will start deleting your Parent drives folders & files without asking. Hi friend I presume you are talking about computer viruses and not real biological viruses.Computer viruses are just programs written in different programming languages and with the sold intention to create damage to the OS of other programs on which they are targetted.Thus these virus programs distroy the information on computer.Also many times they corrupt the data and make it useless.Some viruses even clean the partitions on the harddisk thus losing all the data.There are programs called Antivirus programs which detect such programs and elementate them and some times repair the damage created by these virus programs.We mainly get viruses from internet.

what i know is that a virus is a programm which is programmed to do various tasks which are illegal
