Say you have met somebody or come accross something that must be remembered. How do you remember it? DO you have any tips that you want to share with us? Do you match them to a particular interest or remember them because of a special aspect or the person/thing/object? All tips and shared memory strategies/techniques welcome.

One of the famous American specialist on memory improving Ton Buzzan tells people in his book that by making crazying associations, any one can remember anything. I think you must have heard of him. I've tried some of his suggestions. My experience is that you need to practice the techniques he provides until they become almost second nature. Otherwise you might get the items to be memorized all mixed up and be confused. For example, you want to remember some history facts to cope with an examin. You are suppose to find key words in the facts and link them up in you mind with some rediculous association. According to his opinion, you won't fail to remember the string of events happened in history.

Good news for chocolate lovers. A Wheeling Jesuit University professor reports that eating milk chocolate can improve your brain activity. Consumption of milk or dark chocolate showed improved impulse control and reaction time. These findings provide support for nutrient release via chocolate consumption to enhance cognitive performance.

I say things out loud and write stuff down. You'd be amazed how well that works.

i use connections/association, anything that might relate me to my target memory object, it might be a long shot but it's effective for me. sometimes repetition, it helps if i am to remember phone numbers, i usually dial phone numbers to my cell phone, just going through the numbers and not pressing it. and when i get confused if i remember the numbers right, i get my cell and imagine how i dial them.
