What's the best way to loose weight?

Hi guys, I have always been skinny through out my whole life. I always played sports and i was a professional Tennis player. However, in the last three years I have been gaining weight like crazy. I got married in 2004 and since then I gained almost 30 kilos. Can you believe it? And i have been trying to loose weight as much as I can and I tried everything but nothing seems to work. Tell me what should I do? What do you guys do to loose weight?

Burn more calories than you consume. Count the calories that you eat, and aim to exercise and burn off more calories than you are eating. Start a light weight training program (fantastic for weight loss) and do alot of cardiovascular exercise daily (running, cycling). Good luck.

Thanks for the tip. Actually my biggest problem is that my metabolism rate is very low, so I don't burn the food I'm eating. Exercising is the solution but I often either don't have the time or I'm lazzy sitting on my couch :)) Thanks for the reply

I have the same problem, my metabolism is crazy low. I hardly consume any calories and I exercise all the time, plus I don't drive anymore, I always walk or take the bus. And yet I don't think I've shed a pound. It's frustrating.

Yah. that's what im doing now. i watch how much calories the food have. En im taking up a diet supplement. Just eat proper meal on a right time.. avoid sweety thing..

Hey, you know what, I was gaining weight like crazy too just a few months ago, I think it was due to all the stress from school and my job. But I took this semester off, caught up with a lot of my sleep, and you best believe it, I've lost like 7-10 pounds since!

i guess the best way and by far the healthiest way to lose weight is to eat the right kinds of food --- lots of fruits and fiber --- and exercise, such as brisk walking and cardio exercises.

i am in the same boat as militarylady here. i don't eat too much, i do a lot of walking, and yet, i couldn't seem to lose the fats. slow metabolism, eh?

i have the same problem i think the best way is to join some health club ...... VLCC etc hope it works..... more over a friend of mine lost 7 kg in a month just by diet and her only diet was FRESH FRUITS....... hope it works i am planning to try the same

wannna loose weight......sacrifise...as to gain someting u need to loose sumthin..here ur gain is loosin weight..so..gotto loose ..but its worth it...goto bed early...wake u early...gofor walk...if u can jog better...have a hlthy breakfast..fruits...juice..never filll ur stomach...donot sit for a long time...kee burning calories...donot drink water while ur havin food...drink water half n hour after u have ur food...have a medium lunch,,sto havin oily stufff....dinnner shud be very very light...donot goto bed as soon as u eat.....alll this shud hel u loose wight....n set a trget.....that u shud loose so much of weight in so much of time..tht wud interest things alll the best

Thanks for the great tips and for taking the time to write them. I have already started several days ago my diet but I haven't started any physical exercises yet. For example, I eat in the morning one brown toast and light youghurt and an organge and for lunch I eat an apple and for dinner I eat steamed vegetables. I really hope it works. I will try to start exercising as soon as possible. Thanks again for the reply :)

I am in the same situation you are in. When I was in high school and college i was so active... then when I started working full time, I started gaining weight like crazy. It's stopped lately and I've been kind of staying the same weight. I drink a lot of water and just eat fruits and yogurt during the day and then have a bigger dinner. When I work out along with this, I do notice that I lose weight but lately i haven't been motivated to go to the gym.

Working full time has also greatly contributed to me gaining weight. I just used to sit there all day long working hard and sometimes working extra hours and i used to get snacks and stuff to keep me going with things like budgeting and so on :)) Thanks for the reply

well i have heard this so many times that u r in perfect shape before u get married and then BOOM !!.... some months after u get married u start putting on punds of flesh which come from god knows where!!!...... well i havent got married as yet and not planning to for another 5 years atleast.... but all i can tell u is u goto check out a diet that fits for u .... not all diets are made for all ppl.... u have to see which diet suits u the best and go for it.... diets take a long time to show their results on ur body but the result once shown if 90% of the times for a real long period all the best gal

Thanks a lot for your reply. many people have suggested that I go see a dietition so that he would tailor a diet that suits me, I think that I might be going soon. Professional help is greatly needed in situations like mine :) Thanks for the reply

:) wow 30 kilos? thats amazing. Do exercise at least twice a weeks, consume more routine lemon juice every morning and prefer to choose vegetables for your diet.

ONly liquids, mmmmmmmm, i'm not sure. Do you think this is healthy. I mean yes I need to lose weight but I want to do it in a healthy way to avoid negatively affecting my body. My body definately needs certain ingredients are only existent in food. Thanks for the reply :)

exercise is a boring solution, i am sure everyone suggested this, and i know you wont follow it.. lol.. so i ll give you an easier solution- walk!! if you are too lazy to go out and walk, buy a treadmill.. and a motorised one.. i have it myself, and trust me, you will definetely run when you know that ground below you is moving faster! lol it helps to burn calories, keeps your heart fit, and tones down your backside and your thighs- the number one problem area when trying to lose weight! try it!

You're very right. Exercise is very boring and I hate doing it. I actually started to exercise but I know that I won't keep it up for too long. But trademill is a great idea. i can even put it near to my bed and just use for sometime everyday. How long do you exercise on it? Thanks for the realistic reply :)

Ya, but to tell you the truth vegetables are very boring but they're nutritional and makes you look good and feel good. I have been eating only vegetables for two days now. I hope it works. Please wish me luck, i really need it. Thanks for the reply :)

I think the best way to loose weight is exercise and eating less, but healthy foods. Eating less doesnt mean that you have to skip meals, it simply means that your usual food intake must be lessen to at least half of it. For example, if before you ate 1 cup of rice, now you only take half of it. And during med breaks, avoid having heavy snacks, i think low fat biscuits and juice would be enough. Drink more water. I've got two kids already aged 7 and 2 years old and so far i havent weighed that much. As of the moment I weigh 100lbs, so thats around 50kls. more or less. I make sure that i dont exceed beyond 50. :)

Wow, fifty kilos, I wish I can be like you. I don't know what's gotten into me that made me gain all this weight, I think its a combination of things. But you're right eating half what I used to eat will make a difference for sure. Thanks for the tip and thanks for the reply :)

Their is only one diet that works: DETM Don't Eat Too Much If you make it as one and only rule, you don't have to watch calories etc. Also, eat every 3-4 hours if you can. Don't eat at night.

i too have always been skinny and the problem with that is we tend to eat too much because we think we would never get fat anyway. but sometimes we forget that we already crossed the boundary and you already had this bad habit of eating much. i suggest that you take control of your eating habits and try to increase your activities for the day.

You know what, this is exactly what happened to me. I never thought I could get fat at all. I was alaways the slimmest amongest my friends and family and so I was eating as much as I want and I was eating all kinds of fattening food and now I'm paying for it :) Thanks for the reply

The best way to lose weight is by being active and watching what you eat. I'm not a big eater, but I gain weight because I get too lazy to exercise. Once my pants get a little snug, it's my wake up call to get my butt in motion!

You know what I'm not a big eater as well, I just pick the worest kinds of food, like fried food and so on. I just love these kinds of food. My husband and I were moving from our house to a new house and in this period I couldn't cook or anything so for three months we kept eating fast food everyday. Can you imagine, we used to order KFC, McDona;d's, Hardees, and so on and we gained weight like crazy. Thanks for the reply :)

Hi, One of my friends is trying to lose weight for her wedding, And she is on the tony fergison diet that you can get from the terry white chemist. She has lost at least 10 kilos in ten 8 weeks. Its a milkshake diet so you have a milkshake for breakfast, a milkshake for lunch and a proper meal for dinner. If you a hingry throughout the day you just have fruit no mellons or that as they have too many calories or acid. She gave me a quick rundown on it. But you arnt allowed any cafien if you like you coffee's or softdrink i wouldnt go on it. But me myself i just watch what i eat and have your 3 meals a day and i go for walks and do stomace crunches. I am losing weight slowly. So yeah try the tony fergison diet and see how that goes.
