what if the boss is bad???

Ok...here is a thoughtful question. You have a job, everything else is fine, but the boss is bad. Well, u tried adjusting and putting up with him, but it's just gettin worse day by day and you're being exploited. He doesnt respect you and is always trying to overload you. You've been patient thinking he's a snob, but then you realize that he's being nice to certain people who supposedly are his favourites. You really need a job and the salary you're getting now may not be too great, but its sufficient, and getting jobs arent that easy. How would you handle such a situation???..Well its not just a thought, but my sister is the one who is facing this problem.

For me, she better look for a new job first before she quits on her current.. It is important that she find it first for her not to loose her earnings.

Always make sure you don't need the job you are working in. That way, you will be able to walk away from it without any regrets if there is a need. Sometimes bosses can be pretty darn stupid and unreasonable but they are still bosses. As such, you cannot actually win a head on political confrontation with them. Your only option is to withhold work, which you can only do by your resignation.

yes enrique, i would do the same.but since searching for a new job will take time, its better for her to try and send applications out and wait for new opening elsewhere before quitting.

I just left a job after 4 months and returned to my previous job. Thank god, they wanted me back and I'm glad to be back. I left for a better salary and supposedly better working conditions and less stress. The job wasn't bad but the boss was an a$$hole. He can't cope with his workload, and everything is falling behind because he doesn't have time to deal with the important issues. Bottomline, he took out his frustrations on his employees. Nobody was ever good enough and did the job to his exacting standards. I just decided that the money wasn't worth it and left.

If I were in your sister's shoes,I would go and confront the higher officials about the issue and find out why the injustice is carrried out.I wont leave the job as it satisfies my needs.I will try to find other jobs with a better salary meanwhile and wait for the right time to resign if there is no action taken against him.I also hope that the management will be above such petty biased treatment in your sister's case.

This type of situation happens a lot and I was in the same situation. I was a supervisor and my boss and I used to be very good friends as we worked together at another company. Because I didn't agree to "everything" she wanted (because it would not help my staff) my boss changed towards me. She did things like try to get me fired, HR & home office told her she was crazy and it wouldn't happen. There were four others supervisors and my boss invited all of them to lunch and not me! Those are just a few things she did, I would go on, but the bottomline, I just did my job! I made sure that everything I did was 100% right! I made sure that my staff was 100% right with everything they did. More importantly, I prayed "EVERYDAY" that God would remove she evilest from me or remove me from that job and place me with another job. Result, my boss got another job with another company! God does answer prayers!

Every boss is bad....i mean it. Let us consider some thing like a classroom u can find a teacher to be worse, dose the teavher is really worse? no not really. Staff find there boss to be bad, he/she only want work. Comm on man he is paying u, he needs to get back for his money. Thats it boss r not really so bad

Well, i understand what u mean, but it's just that u dont seem to understand. I know my sis's potential, and she's mature enough to figure out something like overloading and favouritism that's just happening around. And as for the teacher thing, dont tell me there are no teachers who dont exhibit partiality or favouritism. All my life i've worked with such teachers. Its a pity that good ones are just a handful.

i think a job is a job.......i think in this situation u cann't do nothing drastic....i mean u cann't leave ur job as it is very imp. 4 u... but wat u can do is to ask ur boss the reason for his partial behaviour towards u.....maybe by talking with ur boss can sort out ur problems.........

i had a job like that. my boss was the owner of the business and his son in law worked there too. the SIL trained me but didnt train me for one specific thing and when it came up he started yelling at me in the office (luckily no customers were in there) and i yelled back at him. he really upset me. im not sure who was worse, my actual boss or his SIL......so i went to lunch and never came back. it was a great paying job, but the pay wasnt good enough for me to feel like puking every day on the way to work.

Well,I used to face the situation when I did my internship in Toyota for 8 months. My boss is a bad tempered person and really wants everything to be in his order. I don't really like it though, and sometimes I felt like I wanna kick my boss in his head, But again, this is life, whether you like it or not, you have to face it because if you make things worse, then bye bye! You gonna have to find another job because you'been sacked by your own boss! So my advice is,whether you like it or not, thats life! And thats the truth..

I worked in this type of situation for six years. It was horrible, I would come home from work crying most days. In my situation, I ended up pregnant with my third child and after having her, we decided it really wasn't worth my while to go back to work outside the home as I would only be working to pay for childcare. She should start looking for a new job and then quit this one (without notice). I know it's a tough situation, but if she needs the money she really can't afford to quit without another job to go to.

YOur sister has only two choices to make... and between two evils... she must choose the lesser one. That would depend on how she weighs things. She can live with the boss' style or get herself out and find another job where she may experience peace of mind. Sometimes, it is not in how much we are earning that we would like to stick to our job, but the working environment has a bigger share in making us do so.
