I installed Debian Linux on my old computer and now the little kinds from my town are playing Counter-Strike on IT and I experience a lot of stuff because I want to become a system administrator in life. Don't throw away your old computers. Use them. In any matter, but use them! This is my advice!

I usually just dispose it. I really don't have the patience when it comes to using really slow computers so why keep it if you already have a brand new one.

My family has two computers already, which I love! ^_^ We have a router so that our internet access will work on both of them. And if we were to get a third computer, I would love to have one of the older ones in my room. I have never had a computer in my personal bedroom, and it would be so exciting to be able to stay in my room and get online and do the things that I normally do, or to lay in bed while I watch a video on the computer monitor instead of figuring out ways to be comfortable out here in the living room trying to watch something on the monitor. So that is what I would hope to do if we got another computer! ^_^

I usaually strip them down and clean it out. Sell the parts online to make some money back. If that doesnt work out, I'll give it to a relative or friend that wants/needs it.

There are a number of companies that will pay for old computers and computer parts. They strip them down, make any repairs necessary and sell them at cut-rate prices to charities and not-for-profits that usually don't have the budget for such things. There are also Computers-For-Schools groups that do the same thing but donate the equipment to schools or youth organizations.
