For you who do you think is the greatest chess player
ever and why?
My pick is Jose Raul Capablanca, he was called "The Natural" as he never read any chess books and yet he
still became a world champion

WOW I should research that guy. My favourite chess players are Veselin Tapolov and Vishwantathan Anand. I'm just amazed with how well they play the game. Vishwanathen is also a very quick thinker.

It would be Alexander Alekhine in the old era and Garry Kasparov in the modern era. Alekhine is undisputed in his times and Kasparov was undisputed in his times also. The record that Kasparov set can never be equaled by any chess players as of today.
